EXTRACURRICULAR INVOLVEMENT

Redcoat Marching Band - Clarinet Teaching Assistant, Clarinet Rank Leader (Aug. 2016-May 2021)

  • Manage music organization and critique marching and musicality

  • Collaborate with other rank leaders as a leadership team to regulate rehearsal schedules and etiquette

  • Travel to away football games and perform at prestigious gigs as a member of the highly selective Derbies Pep Band, as well as participate in Volleyball Band, Gymnastics Band, and Basketball Band

  • Facilitate sustainability efforts, such as reusable water bottles and paperless music

  • Selected to be the Clarinet Teaching Assistant, a job that is typically only held by graduate students

Georgia Recruitment Team - Executive Director, Head of Recruitment and Outreach (Feb. 2017-May 2021)

  • Lead meetings for the general body and executive board, facilitate professional relationships with the Office of Admissions staff

  • Organize applications and interviews to recruit new members for the organization

  • Participate in a variety of on and off-campus recruitment events hosted by the Office of Admissions

  • Give engaging campus tours and speak on student panels to highlight aspects of leadership and scholarship as well as our history and traditions

Dean William Tate Honor Society- Member Development Coordinator (Mar. 2017-May 2020)

  • One of 24 first-year students recognized for academic achievement and extracurricular involvement. The highest honor a first-year student can receive at the University of Georgia.

  • Coordinate and design curriculum to facilitate growth within our society in our pillars of membership: leadership, scholarship, and service.

MathCounts- Head Coach Coordinator, Head Coach, Coach (Jan. 2017-May 2020)

  • Served on an executive board to facilitate the service organization.

  • Led a team of UGA student volunteers for weekly sessions with Barrow County Elementary students to teach new concepts and complete problems.

  • Helped organize the “Pi Run”, a 3.14 mile race fundraising event.

Students for Environmental Action - President, Service Project Coordinator (Aug. 2017-May 2019)

  • Organize general body meetings and service projects focusing on various aspects of environmentalism

  • Coordinate with other campus organizations concentrated in sustainability and environmental activism

  • Lead executive board meetings and facilitate position applications and elections

Honors Program - Honors Teaching Assistant (Apr. 2018-Dec. 2018)                                        

  • Lead a seminar class for first-year Honors students to introduce them to opportunities within the Honors Program, the UGA campus, and the community

  • Serve as a peer mentor for first-year Honors students

  • Engage in personal development opportunities through the HONS4000H pedagogy course

Center for Student Activities and Involvement - Involvement Ambassador (Sept. 2017-May 2019)       

  • Serve as a liaison between student organizations and the rest of the student body by exemplifying the benefits of getting involved on campus

  • Hold personalized Involvement Coaching Sessions and present at Presidential Summits

  • Provide extensive knowledge about various campus organizations and resources for getting involved

Dawg Camp - Discovery Counselor (Oct. 2016-Oct. 2018)

  • Served as an extended orientation counselor for first-year UGA students and a co-mentor to a small group

  • Led a mentor group and offered advice to staff members as a returning counselor

  • Recruited more campers than any other staff member and fundraised over $1000 for camper scholarships

  • Participated in the Dawg Camp course, ECHD 4537, as a Peer Leader

Other:

I was selected to speak at the UGA Graduate Student Assistantship Orientation about my campus involvement and leadership.

I was selected as a speaker for the UGA Tate Leadership Scholars Panel Discussion, “Passion Projects”, regarding my work with sustainability and my reusable water bottle project with the Redcoat Band.

I was selected as the Service Speaker for the Honors Program convocation.

Peer Mentor - Destination Dawgs

  • Mentor to students with intellectual disabilities to help them gain skills for self-determination, independent living, and career/leadership development through the UGA Destination Dawgs program

Head Coach Coordinator - MathCounts

Peer Learning Assistant - Physics & Electromagnetism (PHYS 1112)

  • Created personal bonds with students and offered help and review sessions outside of typical course hours

Soccer Coach - Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

  • Coached soccer for a youth league of four-year-olds, weekly practices and scrimmages
